Michael Jackson – Thriller

Review# 317

Of the four Michael Jackson albums I have now waffled on about Thriller is the only one that still seems to stack up sound wise. Musically its still not very exciting but vocally its good. But then anything can stand up to the turgid tripe of History. Growing up I preferred both Bad and Dangerous to Thriller, they had more of a rock flavour where Thriller leans a bit toward funk etc. So not surprisingly my favourite tracks have always been Beat It and Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'. It is a good album as far as pop goes, though if I think about it too much then I can't take seriously a virgin singing about being a lover etc, its just weird.
