Expect nothing but Pink Floyd for ages.
The Division Bell is appropriately titled given it’s the last album the band ever recorded. Not only that, but it seems to be about the split of the band as a cohesive unit beginning with Roger Waters taking creative control beginning from The Dark Side of the Moon sessions escalating into dictatorship by the time of The Final Cut.
This was always one I was kind of cold on, even as a kid and kids like everything. There’s some good moments but it never really ‘takes off’. At least A Momentary Lapse of Reason does that much. The best track is Lost For Words. The song has a surprising amount of words in it given the title.
Probably my least favourite Floyd album but I like it more now than I used to. Now for some of the good stuff.
