This is my most overlooked Beatles album, everytime I listen to it I’m reminded of its brilliance but at the same time I don’t really tend to listen to it all that often. This is what kicked psychedelia into full swing. Although the psychedelic age began with Pet Sounds and a few lesser known albums this really brought in a lot of the elements that were mainstays to the movement; sitar, changing genres from one song to the next, backwards guitar solos, childrens songs... this is all on side one. The ultimate step forward for Revolver is the closing track Tomorrow Never Knows which is the definitive work of the genre.
