King Crimson - Discipline

Surprise, surprise. A Crimson album that takes a long time to grow on me. For a long time I thought this album was kind of cheesy in its production values. It’s definitely a product of the 80’s. I think what’s happened is Adrian Belew had a few songs worked out already before he met up with Fripp. Fripp’s contributions to Matte Kudusai sound like his contributions to Heroes.

The two tracks that really REALLY stand out are the only popular King Crimson song ever, Elephant Talk, and the psychotic sounding Indiscipline, which sounds like something from Starless and Bible Black. I’m sure I never heard this track before otherwise I would have taken a liking to the album MUCH sooner than I had.
