Killing Joke – Fire Dances

Review# 182

Fire Dances is one of those weird albums that often sounds somewhat upbeat despite the often not so upbeat-ness of the actual lyrics. This is the first Killing Joke album to feature the amazing Paul Raven on bass and while the band have always had a great bass sound there is just something about Raven's style that adds an extra flavor. In 2008 Fire Dances was re-issued with 8 bonus tracks including 4 from a John Peel Session in 1983.
While I am still discovering the joy's of Killing Joke, Fire Dances is emerging as a favourite of their extensive catalogue.
