Fields Of The Nephilim – Elizium

Review# 98

Elizium is Fields Of The Nephilim's follow up to their classic album The Nephilim. This is one if those albums that has a continued flow as opposed to individual tracks placed on a record, I would almost liken it to movements like in a classical piece and if you are not paying attention then you can miss where one song ends and another begins. The over all sound is more ethereal than previous albums but still keeps the same key musical sounds/styles associated with FOTN and as usual Carl McCoy's voice sounds amazingly haunting. This is the third and final studio album for 12 years, Elizium was released in 1990 and in 1991 Carl left taking the name with him and it wasn't until 2002 that a new album was made... But that is for a different review!
