Bob Dylan is supposedly the most bootlegged artist in the world. To be honest, I’m amazed it’s not The Grateful Dead. Bob’s Never Ending Tour has been running since 1988 and runs at over 2000 shows, one of the most gruelling touring schedules of any artist who’s ever lived.
This set captures the Rosewood Ballroom shows from October 1994. The first thing I’ve noticed is how GOOD the sound quality is. Even the beginning of Jokerman which is spliced from an audience recording is really good. To be honest I would have been happy if the whole show sounded like that, but after the first minute it goes into the soundboard capture. This isn’t just good for a bootleg, it’s a pretty good standard for an authentic release.
Of the two performances I prefer the first, its better played and far livelier than the second show. The second set has the better set on paper but the energy isn’t quite there and Bob’s voice is a wee bit rougher.
