The Damned Things – Ironiclast

Review#124

When I first heard this album I really wrestled with a strange kind of prejudice, and it wasn't against the members of Fall Out Boy! In fact I really liked the music - what bothered me the first time through was Keith Buckly's voice and it was a stupid thing too, because I love his vocals in Every Time I Die I just really couldn't come to grips with a pretty much entirely clean vocal performance. But the music was good so I gave it another spin and it has proven to be a real grower. I started noticing how much attitude was in the music and the vocals and then just admitted that Keith is just awesome and appreciated it for what it was and as a great way of showing off Keith's amazing voice. The album is super catchy, I can go for a few days of not listening to it and still have tunes stuck in my head. I think the album is a little front heavy but the last half is still decent. This is a good album, especially as far as supergroups go and I think there is a little something for everyone in it.
