Dir En Grey – Vulgar

Review# 168

Most people know I like my music weird and Dir En Grey are a perfect example of this taste. There are so many styles mixed into their music, sometimes even into one track. A lot of the bands in the J-Rock are either loved, hated, or simply leave people trying to comprehend what they just heard. Their crowd at Sonisphere last year was one giant combo of the above; people jumping around obviously enjoying themselves and taking in front man Kyo's contorted hunched and writhing form and the obvious passion it emitted, others talking it over trying to decide what to make of everything and those who made snide comments and then left.
Personally I love the crazy experimentalism, through out the whole album you will stumble across slight touches Rock, Punk, Metal, Thrash, Industrial, Nu-Metal, Hardcore and well probably more in the somewhere. The album is mixed well and helps add to the crazy mix of sounds.
So not to everyone's taste at all but... Well interesting.
