Mortiis - Perfectly Defect

Review# 158

This most recent album buy the bizarre, oft hated (well in my circles anyway) Mortiis, was essentially given away as a free download on The Mortiis website... the only way you could pay money for a tangible copy was at some live shows and due to the limited pressing is hard to find. I personally enjoy Mortiis, Perfectly Defect may not be as solid as previous albums but then it was an independent release as opposed to Earache Records who had been involved in most of the previous releases. This is definitely an album that feels as though it has no boundaries, while still sitting within the Industrial scene there are traces of Gothic Rock and Trance. Some of the album does border on stepping out of my comfort zone and I doubt I would like it as much if this was my starting point. But I am content to put it on every now and then and just enjoy the experimental quality.

If you decide to be a cool person and check him out here is the link for the album: http://www.mortiis.com/
