Now that title is a mouthful! This album is written from the perspective of the Writer, he is the character who is creating the world that Claudio, Coheed and Cambria etc are all living in. You can hear his delusional ranting narrative at times as he argues with his Ten Speed Bicycle and decides to kill off characters so he can end the story. It is very bizarre but adds another layer to the story.
Good Apollo is Coheed's crowning album, it is a sprawling epic piece of work that sweeps you up and along. Even if you don't know the story you can't help but get caught up in the drama and passion. Welcome Home was the first single released, this is now the bands Ace Of Spades, they could not get away with not performing it live. I don’t think there is a song on here I don't like but stand out tracks besides Welcome Home are; Ten Speed (Of God's Blood And Burial), The Suffering, The Lying Lies & Dirty Secrets Of Miss Erica Court and The Willing Well I: Fuel For The Feeding End.
Personally this album is the most emotional of the lot, there is so much anger here but with some strange quiet interludes like in Wake Up where the Writer is softly singing “I'll do anything for you/ Kill anyone for you”. This really comes across very disturbing, especially in what is a very pretty song. But the whole album shows the unbalanced nature of the Writer, how he seems to start toying with the characters through to Claudio meeting the Writer and the eventual demise of the party Claudio had since the last album. When you start to delve into the story, which is easy enough on this album, you can become really involved yourself. I think this is part of why this particular album is so good, not only is it the best musically but the story is at such a climax that if you let it you could just fall right in.
