Lacuna Coil – Comalies

Review# 21

This is probably one of the best Lacuna Coil albums, it still has a nice raw edge and isn't over produced poppy stuff like their most recent output Shallow Life.

Christina's vocals sound great but really need to be brought forward in the mix a little, that would be my main gripe with the mix is that it is all a bit muddled and so the vocals lack punch. And sometimes Andrea's vocals completely overbear Christina's which is annoying as Christina has much nicer vocals and while it is nice to have the male vocal sound supporting he is definitely not that amazing a singer. If this album is ever re-released with a better mix then I would be keen to get a copy. Overall this is a great Gothic Rock album and bearing in mind this is the album that really broke Lacuna Coil into a bigger name in the Metal community I can ignore the vocal mix for the most part.
