Its sleazy punk glam shock rock, it has horror filled lyrics and attitude by the buckets full... And it put the Murderdolls on the map in a major way. The side project of Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison and Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 main man Wednesday 13 and with the release of this, their first (and for 8 years the only) album they suddenly found themselves in hot demand.
With lyrical topics such as cross dressing, necrophilia, zombie girlfriends so on and so forth and such obvious influences as Motley Crue, Alice Cooper and the Misfits you really are in for 20 tracks of sing along fun. The lyrics are usually tongue-in-cheek (thankfully!) and they manage to make most of them rhyme but it is all delivered with a metric fuck tonne of fuck you attitude. This albums is just pure fun and really an ode to horror film, you can’t go wrong with songs about a cross dressing zombie who wants’ to Kill Miss America!
There are a few tracks on here that are re-makes of some of Wednesday’s Frankenstein Drag Queens songs such as Dead in Hollywood, 197666 and I Love to Say Fuck but they all fit in well with the album, with the possible exception of I Love to Say Fuck which sounds a little tacked on and not quite up to scratch with the rest of the album. Although the same could be said of Lets Fuck, I Take Drugs and Crash Crash but these, along with a cover of Billy Idols White Wedding, are technically bonus tracks so I will use that as the excuse for them. The cover of White Wedding is pretty rad though. Also, It’s pretty cool to see/hear Joey doing lead guitar and proving he isn’t just awesome on the drums!
This album is best enjoyed loud, with a few (or more drinks) and singing at the top of your lungs! MURDER MURDER YES INDEED K.I.L.L.I.N.G!
